Quandary: I like to read everything in each category before voting on them. George RR Martin’s A Dance With Dragons landed on the novel list. I do not like to read middle books of series first (OK, exception made for Cyroburn, but I think well justified). Do I read 4200 pages of epic fantasy (unfinished epic fantasy, to boot) in the middle of “The Year of Reading Wheel of Time”? Probably, but it might be painful. At least I now know what I’ll do while the family is away.
You could skip the first book and watch the tv series instead… but the first book is probably the best one. They really are quite good. I’m still two books myself… need to read book 4 and 5.
Kinda works, as Season one was nominated for Dramatic Presentation as well, so I could do the two birds thing. Though I do like to have a consistent medium as input ;).
