So there’s this guy Jay Lake, maybe you’ve heard of him. Writer type. I’ve only read Mainspring so far, but it’s good. On his blog, he drops three posts daily. Daily. Yikes. There’s an informational one, like this. There’s a photo-of-the-day post, and finally a link post. I miss sharing links in G-Reader (yes yes there is a G+ thingy, but most people I shared/followed stayed away, and I don’t like having to switch from one context to another to look at the same sort of stuff. I want to look at reader type stuff in my reader, thank you). So I am finally going to start sharing links here, à la Jay Lake. This way the six of you that read this can click stuff again. Joy!
I think I might follow suit on his link post style too (hence the stealing. “But”, you say, “link posts exist all over the place! Why are you singling this guy out?” To which I reply, “Good point! Get out of the parenthesis and I’ll show you!”), though I hesitate a bit. I’ll show you. Here’s a typical postscript:
?otd: Austin or San Antonio?
5/16/2012
Writing time yesterday: 1.0 hours (Kalimpura copy edits)
Body movement: n/a (airport walking to come)
Hours slept: 6.0 (fitful)
Weight: 241.6 (!)
Currently reading: Light Breaker by Mark Teppo
I don’t like the weight. But I understand it. If I post it, I might embarrass myself enough to do something about it (or the six of you will look on me in contempt or pity or something). I guess I’ll keep it. Everything else I like, especially the writing time and the body movement. I hate not writing, but I manage to find excuses not to too often, and I need to work on that.
One thing, of course, is that I doubt I’d be posting every day (you’re welcome), so I might add these as cumulatives for the ones that make sense. I might post every day if I can come up with good ?otd, though, so be warned!
So will the weight also be cumulative then? :p
Gawd, it already feels like it is!
