Film – Holiday and the 2006 wrap-up

So much for rom-coms this year… Action flicks did not fare much better. I have a soft spot for both and this year’s offer has left me wanting.

In any case, there were some good films out there so here we go:

Favourite film:
* Conversations with other women

Choice comedies:
* Scoop
* The Libertine
* Tristram Shandy

Choice seriousies:
* The Proposition
* The Conformist
* Cache

More of the same

I wanted to write a post for a couple of days now but can’t think of anything new to say. Work is wearing me out. It is really busy at the factory with additional meetings at the office. When I finally come home I just want to rest and do nothing.

As a result I have not been to cinema in a while. Last film I went to see was Kika which is an older Almodóvar film. I like his latest stuff, but Kika was too fruity for me. We’ve also been to the theatre to see Rough House which was fun.

We’ve gotten the tree up and decorated, but I still have to tidy up the living room so we can take pictures. The living room shelves have been put in place. I’ve gotten most of the fiction books sorted alphabetically, non-fiction will be more difficult. The library should be up and running by the end of xmass holidays.

Film – The Prestige

Yawn. Though David Bowie as Nikola Tesla was quite funny. Particularly in light of Nikola Tesla never having done experiments that he did not know ahead of time what the results will be. Also, at the point in his life when he is introduced in the film, he had become, not necessarily crazy, but much more unfit for human company than David Bowie portrays him.
