I’ve been to a number of shows lately she here’s a little recap:
Dying to be Sick
Molière’s play about hypochondria translated by Adriene Clarkson. It was actually quite funny, the costumes were really neat and acting was nice.
Don Giovanni
Mozart’s opera about 18th century playboy. I’ve never seen it before and I’ve made a point of not reading up on the story before seeing it. I was very glad I didn’t because it was fun seeing it the first time without any idea how it will end. I had no idea the statue will show up for dinner. That was hilarious!
Nefés
Dance by Pina Bausch about Turkey. This was an excellent performance, full of humour and insight. I wish that it hadn’t been three hours long though. If about 15 to 30 minutes of less interesting segments were cut out, this would have been an absolutely brilliant performance.
